《神探阿蒙第二季》劇情簡介：Former poli ce detective Adrian Monk (To ny Shalhoub), whose photogr aphic memory a nd amazing abi lity to piece t ogether tiny cl ues mad e him a l ocal leg end, has su ffered fr om inten sified obsessive -compuls ive disorder and a vari ety of phobias sinc e the unso lved murde r of his wife, Tr udy, in 1997 . Now o n psych iatric leave fr om the San Fr ancisco Police Department an d working a s a freelan ce detective/ c onsultant on difficult cases, Monk hopes t o convince hi s former bo ss, Capt ain Leland Stottlem eyer (Ted L evine), to allow him to return t o the force . Stottlem eyer, who wa vered betw een admi ration for Monk and ann oyance at hi s eccentricitie s durin g the first se ason, i s becomi ng more of a friend to Monk as the series devel ops, frequent ly calling hi m in to help, as much f or Monk&#39 ;s benefit as for his own. Howeve r, he k nows Mo nk's li mitatio ns as wel l as his st rengths and may still har bor doubt s about t he wisdom of a llowing Monk to carry a gun or subd ue a per petrator. S tottleme yer's second-in-c ommand, Lieutenant Rand all Disher (Ja son Gra y-Stanford) , also seems to be d eveloping both admiration and compassio n for the m an he once labeled "t he defective de tective.&qu ot; Despi te flaws and i nadequa cies al l around , the thre e are becom ing an in creasingly effective team, with ad ditional help from Mon k' s personal as sistant. F rom the d ouble-episo de pilot t hrough the f irst half of seaso n three, Monk was aided by his n urse, S harona Flemi ng (Bitty Sch ram). But i n the tenth episode of th e third s eason, Sharona was repl aced by a new as sistant, Natalie Teege r (Traylor Howa rd). Like Sha rona, a div orcee w ith a son named Benj y, Natali e is a single p arent, a widow with a daughter nam ed Julie (Emm y Clarke).
