《宇宙之旅》劇情簡(jiǎn)介：The IMAX &quot;Cosmic Voyage&quot; film was made as a public service with sponsorship by the Smithsonian Air and Space museum. On DVD, borrowed from my local public library, it plays at just over 30 minutes with Morgan Freeman supplying a pleasing narrative. As one would expect from an IMAX film, the image quality is superb and the Dolby 5.1 sound track is very well done. Simulated cosmic explosions shake your walls! That is, if you have a good powered subwoofer in your system. The film takes a very useful approach to examining the size of the universe, from tiny sub-atomic particles to the vastness of the whole universe. (Fortunately,  when God created the Universe he had dispatched a few angels with video cameras at different vantage points so we get to see actual footage from several billion years ago.) The film starts in Venice, where the discovery of the telescope originated, and uses a one-meter hoop as a reference point, then gradually goes larger by powers of 10, e.g. 10 meters, 100, 1000, etc until we can see the whole universe. Then it takes the opposite journey, going smaller by powers of 10 until be see inside sub-atomic particles. The story is well-woven with beautiful effects created especially for this film. It is entertaining and educational at the same time. All of "oldsters&quot; can enjoy it for the scientific history we are already familiar with, and all the &amp;quot;youngsters&quot; can enjoy it for the educational supplement it provides. Overall a masterful film. Any numerical &amp;quot;rating&quot; of &amp;quot;Cosmic Voyage&amp;quot; is meaningless. If one is looking for a superb film about our universe and modern theories of its formation, this one is hard to beat.
