Colin likes t o hang o ut with Mark and his friends in hi s want to be accepted, especi ally as Mark tells him that a ne ighborhood gir l named Hayle y is in terested him . The fam ily rarely socializes with Mavis& amp;#39; sister and brother-i n-law, Barbara an d John, wh o live a middl e to upper midd le class and seemingly pe rfect existence in the su burbs of Chigwell.
